David’s career in banking started in 2012 at Efatha Bank Limited where he worked as legal officer and later as legal officer and company secretary. In 2013 he moved to Mkombozi Commercial Bank Plc and served as a legal officer a position which he held until 2016 when he joined Akiba Commercial Bank Plc and served in various roles namely legal counsel, legal manager and litigation manager before his appointment as the Company Secretary and Head of Legal in March 2025.

David holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania (2011/12) and bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B) from Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College (2009). He is also a registered advocate and an active member of both the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) and the East Africa Law Society (EALS).
