Mr. Massawe is the founder and former Managing Partner of what is now Ernest and Young Tanzania. After his qualification as a certified Accountant he spent 5 years in the public sector with the Tanzania Audit Corporation where he rose to the position as a Chief Auditor. He has been involved as a financial consultants and business advisory in both private and public sector in Tanzania. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for Akiba Commercial Bank Plc since 2011.

Mr. was the founder and Chairman of the Tanzania Association of Accountants, Board member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors and the first Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange.

He has also served in the Banking and Financial Sector Reform Committee, the Value Added Tax Consultative Board, the USAID sponsored Tanzania business Centre Advisory Board and Ministry of Finance’s Think Tank on Tax Reform and fiscal policy

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Massawe has interest in micro-finance banking, insurance brokerage, real estate development, medium scale germ stone mining and stock brokerage. He has also owns number of companies in Tanzania.
