Silvest has vast banking experience having held executive management positions in various banks in Tanzania. His experience spans from being a Financial Sector Regulator at the Bank of Tanzania to a senior executive in First National Bank Tanzania (FNB) and National Bank of Commerce (NBC).

He possesses a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics and  Finance from the Universit y  of  Leeds (U.K), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)  in  Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (ACPA) by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), Tanzania.
